To whom it may concern：
I take the liberty to ask for some info. concerning the seminar held by your newspaper. I want to know the scheduled place， and date of the discussion， so I can make my plans for the meeting. As a social worker， I‘ve had great experience with kids and teenagers， and I’ve sound knowledge of juvenile psychology. Besides， I‘ve written dozens of papers about how
to raise their creativity and motivation. Sure enough， I also helped prevent lots of juvenile delinquencies. I‘ve been much interested in the seminar because I want to share my opinions with other experts. I’ll be pretty grateful if you can give me a reply at your earliest convenience.

Dear Mr. Zhanghua：
As chairman of the council， I feel so regretful as to inform that your application for the membership has to be definitely declined for lack of your qualifications as is shown in our form. We can‘t see a bit of your concern about animal’s rights， because you never have any experience with pet-keeping. Even worse， it seems that you seldom take on voluntary work for
the sake of environmental protection. At least， you never mentioned a single in your application form on that respect. On account of all this， I‘m afraid we can’t approve your application. I‘ll be very grateful for your appreciation of my decision.
Bravely Face Up To Challenges
Throughout our life-time， we are always confronted with lots ofchallenges as well as difficulties. To each test， we should devote our enthusiasm， discretion and energy； otherwise， we would absolutely become good-for-nothings. If we put an examination room into perspective， we would learn a meaning and rewarding life.
In an examination， when we do multiple choice questions， we have to make the choice between evil and good， between power and character， and between bias and justice. We must correct our wrong answers to difficult questions and similarly， we should learn to put our behaviors in right directions. And most important of all， we should abide by laws and regulations just as we must obey laws in an exam room. Unless we act discretely and conscientiously in the face of challenges， great consequences will inevitably follow.
Anyway， we are put into an exam room and the moment， when we came into the world， we are given a test paper， each page of which should be completed if we want to find the true.
Learn the Act of Giving Up
The art of living consists in the art of learning to give up. In other words， if we learn this art， we will come to appreciate of the true value of what we supposedly possess. Then we‘ll discover the undeniable fact that what we gain will definitely far outweigh what we lose.
As is shown in the picture， our pursuit for material gains must result in unforeseeable consequences in the days to come. If the man persisted in cutting trees for economic returns， his action will inevitable come about great disasters to the environment. Just to name a few， how fortunate it is that the man learned the art of giving up and woke up to the importance of environment protection.
The decision is wise and rewarding， though painful and costly. More often than not great rewards will follow in the long run if we resolutely give up what we now are in passion of.
This picture points to an important truth in our social life that， when exposed to troubles， you have to show consideration for others if you want to receive consideration from others.
The truth is self-evident， since as social as being our well-being depends upon our interpersonal relationships； the bus driver sets us a pretty good example.
If you can appreciate the gist of the truth， you will give love to others when you see someone is in difficulty， in distresses or in need of help， you will surely be tolerant of others‘ offences unintended when some makes careless mistakes， and you will pay tribute to others when someone holds different opinions We should bear in mind that our happiness is closely bound up with that of our fellow citizens.
The bus driver is so considerate to the pedestrian crossing the road that he slows down the vehicle. We sincerely wish that he could drive his car smoothly to the destination he intends to arrive at.
My Views upon Traditional Values
The two drawings just stand in a sharp contrast， reminding their readers of two kinds of attitudes towards novelties as well as traditional values. Peoples in the left picture willingly accept the arrival of Santa Claus in China， while the old man in the right picture is stubbornly clinging to the old practice of waking up to a rooster‘s singing.
（对比段） The scene puts us deep in thought about how we should react to novelties and how we should deal with traditional values. Sure enough， we should be open-minded， and we should accept readily new ideas and new inventions， whether created at home or imported from overseas. Besides， traditional value are what we should hold if they are not out-dated， but we must bear in mind that we cannot go to extreme like the man in the bed.
We should receive with open arms new things that prove to be useful and practical to our life. If only the old man wind his clock and work up punctually the next morning.
As can be seen from the graphs， great changes have been taking place in people‘s life styles over the period from 2001 to 2005. The number of people taking part in physical exercise and cutting down on weight is increasing year by year， and their expenses on their health programs account for a much proportion in their total expenditures.
Why are there such remarkable changes in people‘s life styles？ For this there are two major reasons. On the one hand， nowadays， people can afford to devote a larger of their income to the maintenance of physical health， with their living standards considerably improved. On the other hand， people now pay attention to the quality of their life， because they know it is of great benefit to keep physically fit. This is what lies behind the figures shown in the illustration.
From the above； we can see that people‘s living level has been rising markedly in the past five years. Moreover， we can also expect that there will be a more prosperous future waiting for us.
大作文6：否定性的文章抓住机遇（Do It Now）（此题目重要程度：三星级）
There is a general assumption that people must “look before you leap”。 It is also assumed that successful individuals never take actions before they make careful decisions. We are told that opportunities will always come up if we are well prepared. Actually， there is no evidence that people who achieve must act after excessive deliberations.
The opposite is never the truth. One thinks of Hamlet， who never fulfils his ambitions because he only acts upon the notorious saying “To be or not to be， that‘s a question”。 The hunter in the picture is all the more a pretty good case in point. He will definitely lose his golden opportunity to catch rabbit if he spends too much on “careful” calculations. Undoubtedly， chances are one in million.
Although we should place high value upon precautions， we will lose precious opportunity， if we lose our time on excessive analysis. If only the hunter dropped his compasses and chased directly after the rabbit.
Nowadays……。 has become the talk of the town. Wherever you go， you can hear it talked about by people from all walks of life. Actually， you can hardly avoid exposing yourself to a discussion about it even if you want to turn a deaf ear to it， because it has entered every hole and corner of our daily life……。
………… is quite common in our everyday life， and thus its importance is usually ignored by many of us. Its value， however， cannot be underestimated， although we cannot measure its importance in the same way we estimate the value of water， air， rice， and other things.
There are many causes for……。， these causes can boil down to two major kinds： internal and external. Internally speaking……… ， Externally speaking……We know that external causes become operative through internal causes. So the root causes are on the part of………
…… is one of the newly emerging things in China today. It must be admitted that there is much room for important. However， we cannot demand perfection of it at the present time， because nothing is born perfectly. So long as we concern ourselves with……… and give support to its development， it will benefit us greatly.
Much has been said about…， the rights and wrongs of the problem have， so far， become quite clear. There may be a lot of other similar phenomena in our society today. As long as we keep sharp-sighted， we will always be with the truth.
